This COMcheck does not appear to have been properly completed to demonstrate the project is complying with section C405.5.2 of the 2012 VECC. It appears that the project has used an incorrect method to calculate the total allowed Watts for the project. The floor area that may be used for each area category is the illuminated space, and does not include walls, columns or other unlit areas. More significantly, the "area category" of the spaces does not appear to be correct. The submitted interior lighting COMcheck includes two area categories, "Bar/lounge/leisure dining" and "Restroom." The plans clearly show that some of the project includes the two aforementioned categories, but it also includes the following area categories "Conference/Meeting/Multipurpose" (1.2 Watts per Square Foot), "Corridor/transition" (0.7 Watts per Square foot) as well as others. In the resubmission, include the correct floor area that is the illuminated space only, and utilize the correct area category for each illuminated space to calculate the total allowed interior lighting power.
